2 Feb 2010 101 List update; six tasks completed
While I was in Argentina I managed to knock off half a dozen items from my
101 Things in 1001 Days list:
84) Watch A Scanner Darkly
Man this was disappointing. I had a feeling that this movie was not going to match up to the book. This had some good things, like the actors were perfect and the animation film style suits the story. However the story got changed too much and I never got the feeling of Arctor going insane like I did when reading the book. If only they stayed closer to the original material.
28) Watch a sunset
This was taken on one of the many bus rides I took whilst travelling through Argentina.
27) Watch a sunrise
Taken at around 05:43 at Valeria Del Mar in Argentina. At first I was afraid that I was not going to see the sun through the haze in the distance, but the haze only added to the excitement I had when I saw the sunrise in the horizon. I genuinely felt giddy watching this.
4) Go to a foreign beach
Taken at Valeria Del Mar in Argentina, with two of the hottest chicas in Argentina. No joke.
3) Visit the North and South of Argentina
One part of my two-part challenge of visiting the North and South of Argentina. This photo was taken on a disposable camera because I forgot to charge my digital camera. Rubbish!
34) Have at least ten 5 minute conversations purely in spanish
I want to thank all the people (friends, their family, random strangers) that engaged me in conversation entirely in Spanish. I wasn't 100% accurate but every Spanish conversation I have gets me one step closer to chatting up a Spanish speaking chica with confidence. I will continue to increase the tally until the end of the 101 challenge.
So my current score is 19.5 completed tasks and 1 failed task.
29 Dec 2009 101 Tasks completed: #83 and #98
While I've been on holiday I managed to complete two tasks from my
101 things in 1001 days list:
This shot was taken on the bus to San Martin, Argentina. It was raining heavily on the road with a fantastic thunderstorm.
I took dozens of pictures that night and this was the only photo where I actually managed to capture a lightning arc.
I'm not particularly happy with this shot of a lightning arc. I will try and get a better shot in the future.
I read this during the long bus treks across Argentina.
Honestly I donīt know why I havenīt read this book sooner, or why I was having so much trouble reading this book. Itīs a brilliant story about the damaging effects of drugs with a tragic ending.
I canīt wait to watch the movie and compare the two mediums.
7 Dec 2009 101 Tasks FAIL: #74
Well uh... I guess that's one English pound to a charity.
Lets hope I don't fail in any of my
101 Things in 1001 Days list.
10 Oct 2009 101 Tasks Complete: #60 and #63
Two more completed tasks from my
101 list; new PC speakers and new video editing software.
A pair of Creative Gigaworks T20 Series II speakers, crank the bass to max, and enjoy the music. They're even good enough to use for my TV.
To complete challenge #63 I got myself Super LoiloScope, from
www.loilo.tv.
It truly is one of the most intuitive, quickest and easiest video editing tool that I have ever used. Worth every penny.
Man, this list is pretty easy to complete. Then again I should try and complete challenges that don't require me spending money...
20 Sep 2009 101 Task Complete: #73
My good friend
Float Star PX pointed out a valid point about tasks #73 and #74 from my
101 list. He stated that I should get an office plant right to fairly complete the task, otherwise I could get a plant on the last day of the 1001 days and technically I would complete the challenge. Which would bee cheeky of me.
So in the interest of fairness I got myself a bonsai tree for my office. Now lets see if I can keep the bugger alive until the 28th April 2012.
I also picked up a venus flytrap when I was at the home depot store at the same time I got the bonsai tree. I thought it would be a neat little thing to have in my kitchen to catch all the flies.
12 Sep 2009 101 Tasks Completed: #93, #23 and #72
It's been a mini blitz of task completion over the last few weeks....
Before and after shots. The growing a beard task was annoying. I couldn't stop touching it!
Still, when the month was up I wanted to have a little play with my facial hair before shaving it off completely...
... which gave me a chance to show off the smoking pipe I got myself. How sophisticated. All is needed now is to add bubbles.
After many months of search I found a barber that does shaves and a haircut. I ended up with a slightly bloody face and various small patches of beard that he missed. Sweeney Todd this man was not. Final verdict: It was a fun little experience to try, but you're better off shaving yourself.
I'm getting through my
101 Things in 1001 Days list pretty fast. This is a piece of cake!
20 Aug 2009 101 Task Complete: #16
I needed some toilet paper in the house badly. So what better time to complete a task than now:
It was surprizingly boring to complete this task because no one was paying any attention to me...
I guess people see this kind of thing every day in the wee hours of the night.
16 Aug 2009 101 Task Complete: #61 and #70
I've completed two items on my 101 Things To Do In 1001 Days list; #61 and #70:
I'll give a little review of the microphone at a later date.
1 Mar 2008 The Political Compass
Have you ever wondered where you stood in the view of politics? I sure did. I was losing minutes of nap time because of it.
Then I found
The Political Compass and now I'm no longer in the dark.
Once you complete a quick test the website generates a graph to indicate not only how left-wing or right-wing you are, but how Authoritarian or Libertarian you are.
And now, without further ado... BEHOLD!
This graph show how I roll.
How about you folk?
Take the Political Compass test and find out how you roll.
4 Jun 2007 Some online tests
I've found some time during my lunchbreak and did a little bit of updating in some of the pages on this site, namely the About Me page and the Stuff page. I've added some new online tests. Because I can!
29 Mar 2007 Crappy online ink blot test
Hmmm, 'Adult Film Star' eh? Sorry I'm not seeing it myself.
... Then again, I shouldn't knock it until I try it.
21 Dec 2006 Soundtrack to my life (shuffle)
This looks like a good way to kill an hour or so. I saw
her doing it, who knicked the idea for
this person, who "paid homage" to the idea spawned by
this lady. So climb aboard the bandwagon.
The rules are quite simple:
- Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
- Put it on shuffle
- Press play
- For every question, type the song that's playing
- When you go to a new question, press the next button
- Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
So without further ado...
my randomly selected soundtrack:
- Waking Up: Sounds of Mute City - F-Zero GX
- First Day at School: Just like This - Limp Bizkit
- Falling In Love: War Within a Breath - Rage Against the Machine
- Fight Song: Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica
- Breaking Up: Here to Stay - Korn
- Prom: Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
- Life: My Letter - Flaw
- Mental Breakdown: In The End - Green Day
- Driving: Transmission - Static-X
- Flashback: Gone - Kanye West feat. Cam'ron and Consequence
- Wedding: I Wanna Stand with You - Savage Garden (What the...?!? How did that get there?)
- Birth of Child: Shapeshifter - Celldweller feat. Styles of Beyond
- Final Battle: Jump Around - House of Pain
- Death Scene: Too Long - Daft Punk
- Funeral Song: Chasing Me - Korn
- End Credit: Walking After You - Foo Fighters
Hmm... not quite what I expected. A few good tracks but I could have done a better job myself rather than on shuffle.
